10 Ways on How to Develop Self-Confidence

Counseling Center defines self-confidence as an “an attitude which allows individuals to have positive yet realistic views of themselves and their situations.” It further says that, “Self-confident people trust their own abilities, have a general sense of control in their lives, and believe that, within reason, they will be able to do what they wish, plan, and expect.”
So many people struggle in being confident which hinders their chances of becoming successful in life. Our level of confidence differs from one another caused by our experiences during our past. Our early youth was formed by our parents’ attitudes towards us. When they provide acceptance of their children’s mistakes, encouragement and self reliance, the children  develop a solid foundation of good feelings and self-worth about themselves. When one or both parents are demanding or overly critical, overprotective and discourages their child from doing things by themselves, most likely the child will tend to develop feelings of inadequacy, inferiority and lack of self-confidence.
