[Full-time] Accounting Assistant at sajeev

Description:
15 pounds/HOUR
Assistance with the developing countries accounting function in connection with the European Shared Services team.
• Working with Shared Services team on ensuring invoices related to “developing countries” are correctly coded and processed.
• Follow up on queries raised by Local outsourced accounting firms in various countries
• Assistance with the preparation of monthly files for submission to local outsourced accounting firms, including but not limited to accruals, depreciation, invoices, intercompany, department allocations, cross charges, etc.)
• Preparation of bank reconciliations pre close each month
• Assistance with the uploading of monthly local Trial Balances into Peoplesoft
• Reconciliations of various General Ledger Accounts in accordance with SOX requirements
• Assistance with Year End reconciliation of local Trial Balance to Peoplesoft
• Assistance with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements for the “developing countries”
• Assistance with the relevant Financial Statement admin inclusive of Board of Directors Minutes, wording in Financial Statements, Filing of Accounts, etc.
• Assistance with queries from Local Auditors where applicable
• Full responsibility for Expedia Dubai’s accounting matters from daily processing through to Annual Financial Statements.
• Ad hoc assistance with any other accounting matters either for “developing” or “developed” countries.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Language:
• English essential
• Additional European languages advantageous but not essential
Education:
• Educated to graduate or post graduate level
• Part qualified (CIMA/ACCA equivalent)
Experience:
• At least 2 years experience required
• Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups, data import, formulaes)
• Ideally experience in a high-tech/ web based environment
