MANILA, Philippines – Hacienda Luisita Inc. has begun distributing P20 million in initial financial assistance to farmers.
The distribution Thursday was done at the hacienda's clubhouse and those who signed the settlement agreement were the first to receive their share of the package.
HLI plans to distribute another p130 million to farmers if the Supreme Court will approve the settlement agreement.
