Our client has been providing timber and building materials to the London market for almost forty years. With a business built on four key principles – stock availability, price competitiveness, fast delivery and customer service, they stock over 8000 items. An opportunity has arisen for a Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a committed and dynamic with experience in timber and builders merchants looking to develop their career with an established company.
As a Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for assisting the managers with the smooth running of the transport department.
You will be tasked with:
-Unloading deliveries from suppliers
- Loading and unloading company delivery vehicles
- Ensuring the correct goods are picked for deliveries
- Checking the forklift before use and reporting any faults to management
- Maintaining stock levels
To be considered for the role of Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative, you must have:
- A forklift licence
- Experience of working in a timber and builders merchants, which includes a knowledge of timber and building materials
Additionally, you must be hands-on and proactive with a professional approach to your work. A good understanding of health and safety is also key.
